Wineries of Clarion County

SCENE: You’re stopping in Clarion and looking for a nice bottle of wine. You wouldn’t mind sitting down to enjoy a tasting or two while sitting by a fire or even browsing a store of wine themed knick knacks. You are not in any rush. Some music would set the mood, and you’re a little hungry. A snack would be perfect to top the evening right off.

You’re in luck. Depending on where you are located, you have several different options: Deer Creek Winery, Foxburg Wine Cellars, Red Bandanna Winery, and Porchvue Winery. Each winery is unique unto itself and offers its patrons an enjoyable evening.

Deer Creek Winery
Deer Creek Winery is located in Shippenville, PA. Down a winding, country road, the winery sits on a lovely piece of land among farms and fields. Family owned, the winery has provided for five generations and still offers the family (and many more) some of the finest raspberries. As a result, Deer Creek Winery specializes in raspberry wines.

As you walk into the building, you’ll see a tasting counter, a menu written with colorful chalk displayed on the wall, and two sets of French doors. Walk through one set, and it’ll lead you to a dining and event room. Feel free to sit here and enjoy your wine with a snack plate.

On occasions when this room has been reserved for an event, head to the outside porch and fire pits to enjoy the serenity of nature. Lit with string lights and warmed by flaming fire bowls, the area offers numerous places to gather: tables and chairs on the porch and patio, benches among the landscaping, and chairs around the fire.
Some evenings, you will find a live band on the stage. Be sure to grab your seats early on these evenings because the winery is usually packed full of patrons. We’d hate for you to miss out on a fun filled, tasty experience!

Foxburg Wine Cellars
Foxburg Wine Cellars offers an amazing view of the Allegheny Mountains as it is nestled in a valley along the Allegheny River. Located just minutes off of Interstate 80, Foxburg Wine Cellars is perfect for travelers who are looking for a quick drive to pick up a delicious bottle of wine. Although, Foxburg Wine Cellars does offer a grape-arbor covered patio for those who want to stay a little while.
Specializing in low sulfated, naturally processed wines and offering over thirty varieties, you’ll have lots of options for tasting and purchase. While you taste, browse the store for wine accessories, glassware, and apparel. If you’re looking for a gift, the store also offers household decorations and homemaking wine supplies. If you want to sit under that grape covered arbor, meats and cheeses are available for purchase to enjoy with your wine.

Red Bandanna Winery
Red Bandanna Winery is located in Leeper, PA. As much in the country as Deer Creek Winery is, Red Bandanna Winery boasts its location near Cook Forest State Park. Offering ultra-low in sulfites and minimal sugar wines, the Red Bandanna allows the grapes to speak for themselves. Reds, pinks, and whites, Red Bandanna Winery also offers berry wines and a small selection of Pennsylvania brewed beers.

When the weather is pleasant, enjoy your beverage on the deck outside and experience nature at its finest. Umbrellas can be opened to cover the tables and string lights enhance the ambiance in the evenings. Otherwise, there are numerous couches and tables inside for you to sit at and relax for a while.

Come on the weekends to join in the fun with karaoke or listen to a live band. Red Bandanna Winery is sure to have something for everyone.

Porchvue Winery
Porchvue Winery was started by Pat for his wife Eileen. After moving from California, Eileen couldn’t find a wine that suited her tastes, so Pat started the endeavor of winemaking in order to make her the perfect wine.
Now twenty years later, Pat and Eileen offer more than forty types of wines. Mostly red wines, they also offer whites, meads, specialty wines, and blushes and blends. Dry wine seems to be the specialty, but try some of the blushes, a mix of red and white wine, and meads, which are made with honey, if you’re more of a sweet wine connoisseur.

Order Porchvue Wines online or visit the New Bethlehem winery to taste the wines and of course, enjoy the porch view.
